Closed orbit distortion in scaling FFAGs.

The closed orbit distortion in scaling FFAGs can differ significantly from that predicted by the linear response matrix. This is the result of dipole feed-down from the high order multipoles inherent in the magnets of such a machine. Feed-down also leads to detuning with COD amplitude. In this presentation these effects are studied in simulation and the results compared with theory.
