Muon Source
Content
Muons, in particular, negative muons may become very useful for promising a resolution to the fundamental serious problems of nuclear energy development. In this application, obviously, it is needed that a super intense negative muon source whose intensity is more than 10$^{16}$ $\mu^-$/sec. But at the same time in the muon source, the energy cost for muon production (how much energy is needed to generate one muon) is very important. If the muon production energy cost is more than 3-5 GeV/$\mu$, the muon source, whatever intense it is, may become useless. In this talk, muon possibility in nuclear energy applications are overviewed and the promising scheme for intense and efficient muon source based on FFAG concepts will be presented.
